Mentorship marketplace
LiveProfessionalsPublic

New and certified professionals find a mentor, book a session, and pay in the app.

  1. Public mentor directory

Airbnb-style cards with photo, headline, specialty icons, star rating, years in the field, and price.

  2. Describe what you need

A plain-language search box ranks mentors by how well they match the words you type.

  3. Earned ranking, never paid

The Recommended order weighs reviews and mentoring booked through PAWCAP: how many sessions, how recent, and how many mentees come back. Mentors who keep their sessions on PAWCAP rise; no one can buy a spot.

  4. Filters and quick chips

Specialty, price, rating, and experience in one popup. Dog, Cat, Horse, and Bird chips up front.

  5. Mentor profiles

About, focus areas, credentials, reviews, and a booking panel with the session price and length.

  6. Book through the built-in scheduler

Every mentor uses the platform scheduler at no cost. Live availability, conflict checks, and instant confirmation for free sessions.

  7. Apply to become a mentor

Certified professionals apply from their dashboard. Headline, specialties, session length, and price.

  8. Mentor dashboard

Upcoming and past sessions, both as mentor and as mentee. Rating and completed-session counts.

  9. Follow a mentor

Followers hear when the mentor publishes an article.

  10. 10
    Staff approval of mentor applicationsPlanned

Approve or decline applications from God Mode. Approval turns the mentor profile and session live.

  11. Pay for a session in the app

Paid sessions confirm when payment clears. Stripe or PayPal checkout, with a 10 percent platform fee.

  12. Reviews after each session

Mentees rate the session from the thank-you email. Ratings roll up to the mentor card.

Forum
LiveProfessionalsOrganizations

  1. Topic spaces

Behavior, Training, Business, Shelter and rescue, Equine, Grooming, Health and care, Certification and CE, General.

  2. Private organization spaces

  4. Threaded replies

Replies nest three levels deep, so conversations stay readable.

Upvotes only, by design. Hot ranking mixes votes and recency. Pinned posts stay on top.

  6. Real names with credentials

  7. Reply notifications

  11. Mentions and search

@mention a member in a reply and they hear about it. Search across every thread you can see.

Public directory
LivePublicOrganizationsProfessionals

A Find a Trainer page the public can trust, because only credentialed professionals appear.

  1. Eligibility built in

A profile appears only when it is approved and holds an active public credential. It drops out the moment that changes.

  2. Search and filters

Name, location, species, service, credential, and virtual availability. Same filter popup and quick chips as the mentor page.

  3. Service badges

Professionals pick up to three badges from a fixed list, like Puppies, Reactivity, or Service dog. They show on the card.

  4. Profile self-service

Professionals manage their badges from their dashboard and preview their card.

  5. Book from the profile

Every card opens the professional’s own page: photo, bio, reviews, and what pet owners can book.

  6. Its own web address

Find a Trainer and every booking page live on a site made for pet owners, apart from the members’ site. Cancel, reschedule, and payment links in emails go there too.

  7. Airbnb-style search with a live map

Search by what and where. Cards on the left, a map on the right. Hover a card to light up its pin.

Messages
LiveProfessionalsPublic

Answer pet owners and talk with colleagues without leaving PAWCAP.

  1. Chat with PAWCAP

The same chat sits on pawcap.org. A visitor's question reaches every platform admin at once, with a bell, a banner, an email, and a ping; the answer goes back in the chat and by email.

  2. Chat on your own website

A chat button on your site, in your words and colors. Visitors read your welcome and just type; it lands in your Messages, your answer reaches them in the chat and by email, and they can book and pay without leaving your site. You choose when the chat asks for their email. Part of Plus.

  3. Answer questions in the app

A question from your booking page opens a conversation. Your answer reaches the pet owner by email, with a private page to write back. No account needed on their side.

  4. Live, like a text thread

New messages appear the moment they are sent, on the dashboard, in Messages, and on the pet owner’s page.

  5. Never miss one

People waiting for your answer sit at the top of your dashboard and on the Messages menu, with email, bell, or phone alerts as you choose.

  6. Message other professionals

Write to any credentialed member from Messages or their mentor page. Block or report anyone, and a daily limit on new conversations keeps spam out.

  7. Share from PAWCAP

Send an article, course, event, forum topic, or a colleague’s profile as a card, or attach a picture or a PDF. Refer a pet owner to a colleague in one tap. Files stay private to the conversation and download with one click.

  8. Book without leaving the conversation

Send one of your booking pages as a card. The pet owner, or a colleague booking your mentoring, picks a day and a time, answers your questions, and pays, all inside the conversation. The booking shows up in the conversation too.

  9. 5 GB for your files, and an easy cleanup

Files you send in messages get 5 GB. Settings shows what you use and suggests what to remove: files never sent, large files, old files, and files in archived conversations. Nothing is deleted on its own.

  10. Seen marks and typing dots

See when your message was read, and when someone is writing back, on both sides.

Scheduler
LiveProfessionalsPublic

One-on-one booking for consults, mentoring, and services, without the back-and-forth.

  1. Lead source tracking

  2. Single-use links

A booking link that works once, then dies. For a free consult offered by email.

  3. Booking limits per person

One free consult per email, or any cap you set.

  4. Add-ons at booking

Extras with their own price, like a written training plan. Ticked on the form, shown on the booking.

  5. Discount codes

Percent or dollars off, limited by uses, date, or event type. Typed on the booking form.

  6. Weekly repeat

  7. Guests on a booking

  8. Pick the length

  9. Hidden booking pages

  10. Your own confirmation

  11. Host approval

Confirm each booking by hand. The time is held until you accept or decline.

  12. Attendance and CE hours

Mark who came and who did not. Attended bookings carry the CE hours you set, ready to post to a record.

  13. Multi-week classes

One signup covers every date of a class, like a 6-week puppy course. Cancel the series in one go.

  14. Waitlist for full sessions

A full session takes names. When someone cancels, the next person in line gets the seat and an email.

  15. Pet profile on the booking

Ask for the animal: name, species, breed, age, and what they are working on. Saved on the contact.

  16. Packages

Sell 5 private lessons at one price. Book with the same email and each session comes off the package. Record sales made in person.

  17. Policies and agreements

Cancellation terms shown before booking, with a required "I agree" if you want one. Kept with the booking.

  18. Reminders and follow-ups

    Email 1, 2, 24, or 48 hours before a session, and a thank-you with a book-again link after.

  19. Your words in your emails

Write the subject line and the opening paragraph of the confirmation, reminder, and thank-you emails. The details and the button stay tidy.

  20. Preview every email

See what a client gets, in your name, with sample data, before you save. Every email an event type can send is in the list.

  21. Your logo and color

Set once under Settings. Your logo sits above your booking pages and your emails, and your color goes on the buttons and the picked time.

  22. Reviews after a session

The thank-you email asks how it went. Stars and a few words land on your booking page. Hide any you would rather not show.

  23. Contact notes, tags, and history

Every meeting, animal, and question in one place per person, with private notes and tags.

  24. Lead form

A "Have a question?" box on your booking page. Each question opens a conversation in Messages, waits at the top of your dashboard until you answer, and lands in Contacts.

  25. Booking questions

Ask up to 10 questions when someone books: short answer, paragraph, pick one, pick any. Answers sit on the meeting.

  26. Event types

Name, length, price, location, and a public link for each thing people can book. Pause or delete any time.

  27. Group events

Classes, webinars, and pack walks with fixed dates and limited seats. Cancel a session and everyone is told.

  28. Availability schedules

Weekly hours per day in your time zone, date overrides, time off, and public holidays for your country. One schedule or several.

  29. Contacts

Everyone who has booked with you, with their meeting history, built from bookings.

  30. Booking rules

Buffers, minimum notice, daily limits, start-time steps, and how far ahead people can book.

  31. Conflict checks

A time can never be double booked, across all your event types. Slots regenerate as bookings land.

  32. Scheduled events

Upcoming, past, and cancelled bookings in one list. Cancel with a note and the person is told.

  33. Public booking page

A month calendar, times in the visitor's own time zone, a short form, and a confirmation with add-to-calendar links. Free sessions confirm instantly.

  34. Add to your website

Paste one snippet and your booking page runs on your own site: inline, as a floating button, or as a popup link.

  35. Self-service changes

Every confirmation carries a private link to reschedule or cancel. The host is told either way.

  36. Booking emails

Confirmation, request, decline, cancellation, new-time, waitlist, and reminder emails to the person who booked, and a heads-up to the host. Each one shows your name as the sender, and a reply lands in your inbox.

  37. 37
    Connect your Fetch accountPlanned

Fetch users can show their full Fetch scheduler on their directory and mentor pages instead.

  38. Your country, your currency, your tax

Pick your country once and every price is in its currency. Turn on the taxes you collect with their rates, and each one is added as its own line at checkout, on the receipt, and in the email, on top of your price. Any event type, package, or course can leave tax off. Your tax ID numbers (GST/HST, VAT, ABN) print with the tax, as Canada requires.

  39. PayPalPayPal as a second rail

Professionals in countries Stripe does not serve connect a PayPal account instead. Buyers pay with PayPal or a card on PayPal's page; refunds and PAWCAP's cut work the same way.

  40. StripePayment on booking

  41. MailchimpBrevoActiveCampaignMailerLiteMailchimp, Brevo, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite

Connect your email tool under Settings. New bookings and questions land on the list you pick, and any contact can be added with one click.

Connect Zoom under Settings and every video booking gets its own Zoom meeting link in the confirmation, the reminders, and the calendar event.

  44. Apple Calendar and any other app

  45. 45
    Text remindersPlanned

    SMS reminders before a session.

Organization workspace
In progressOrganizations

Credentials, CE, and members in one system instead of spreadsheets and inboxes.

  1. Member surveys

Write a short survey (3 to 15 questions: pick one, pick any, a 1-to-5 scale, or a written answer). Your members see it on their Dashboard when they sign in, and you watch the results come in live: bars for choices, an average for scales, every written answer, the response rate, and a CSV download. Anonymous by default. PAWCAP runs surveys for every member the same way.

  2. Directory on your own website

One line of code puts your credentialed members on your site, in your font and colors, with search and species filters. Only members with a current credential from you appear; each card opens their booking page.

  3. Display name

Pick the short name people see in bylines, badges, and menus, such as IAABC. The full name stays on your public page and on records.

  4. Public organization profile

A page on PAWCAP that tells the public who you are, what you stand for, and every credential you issue. Edit it from your dashboard. Prepopulated for you before launch.

  5. Member organizations directory

A public page that lists every organization on PAWCAP with a link to its profile.

  6. Multi-tenant organizations

Each organization has its own members, staff roles, credential programs, and settings. Data never crosses tenants.

  7. Membership types and memberships

Define membership tiers with pricing and renewal rules. Track status and renewal dates per member.

  8. Credential programs

Define programs and renewal periods. Issue credentials with explicit status: active, grace period, expired, suspended, revoked.

  9. CE categories and requirements

Set total hours and per-category minimums for each credential program.

  10. External CE review

Members submit outside CE with a certificate. Staff review in a queue. Approved hours post to the credential.

  11. Course accreditation

Approve any published course for your CE categories with your own hours and eligibility rules.

  12. Staff roles

Owner, admin, staff, and education manager, each with matching permissions.

  13. Member profiles and audit trail

Open any member to see memberships, credentials, and CE. Every change is logged.

  14. Member roster with search and filters

Search by name, email, or credential ID. Quick filters for active, grace period, renewing soon, and credits waiting. Twenty-five members per page.

  15. CE approval queue

Outside continuing education lands in one queue. Approve it onto the member’s record or reject it with a note.

  16. Dues tracking

See who is overdue, due in 30 days, or due in 180 days. Record a payment taken outside PAWCAP and the renewal moves forward.

  17. Membership billing

Credentialed professionals outside a partner organization pay $99 a year. Stripe handles the card, renewals, and the receipt. Partner organization members are in at no cost.

  18. 18
    Branding and custom domainPlanned

Your logo and colors on your member-facing pages.

Professional profile
In progressProfessionals

One verified profile. Every organization issues credentials to it.

  1. Full name and display name

Your full name goes on certificates and organization records. Your display name is what people see on your card, your posts, and in the forum.

  2. One profile, many organizations

Credentials from several organizations attach to a single profile. Nothing is retyped.

  3. Verification separate from credentials

A person can be verified before any credential is issued.

  4. Credential and CE tracking

Every credential, its status, renewal date, and CE progress against requirements, right on the profile.

  5. Directory readiness

Clear signals for what is needed to appear publicly.

  6. Email and password sign-in

Create an account with your email, confirm it from the link, log in. Forgot it? A one-hour reset link. Log out of every other device from Settings.

  7. 7
    Profile photos and linksPlanned

Upload a photo and add website and social links.

Courses and continuing education
LiveProfessionalsOrganizations

Build a course in an afternoon. Take one in a sitting. CE hours land on the credential by themselves.

  1. Course library

Members search and filter by topic, animal, price, length, and which organization approved it for CE. Cards show ratings and CE hours at a glance. Visitors see a landing page that explains the program.

  2. Free or paid enrollment

Free courses start at once. Paid courses check out in the app. We keep 10% of paid sign-ups and nothing on free ones.

  3. One sitting, with a saved place

A clean lesson player with video and reading. Progress saves after every lesson, so learners can come back where they left off.

  4. Quizzes as checkpoints

Multiple choice checks along the way or at the end, with a pass mark and unlimited retries.

  5. Certificate and CE record

Finishing creates a printable certificate with a verification code, and records CE hours for every organization that approved the course.

  6. Reviews

Learners who finish can leave a star rating and a short review for the next person.

  7. Course builder

Sections, lessons, and quizzes. Lessons use the same Notion-style editor as articles, with video, images, and PDF handouts learners can open or download. Everything autosaves.

  8. Start from your slides

Export Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote as a PDF and upload it. It becomes a course in one step. Split the deck into lessons and drop quizzes between them.

  9. Private video

Upload video straight from the builder. It streams only to enrolled learners with a short-lived key, so links cannot be passed around. Cloudflare Stream behind the scenes.

  10. Protected files

Lesson images, slides, PDFs, and videos are locked to enrolled learners, the course author, and reviewers.

  11. Submit for CE approval

Creators pick the organizations they want approval from and pay each one's review fee in one step. No platform markup.

  12. Organization review queue

Reviewers open the course, set hours and category, and approve or send back with a note. The creator is notified.

  13. Students roster

See everyone taking your courses, filter by course or status, and open any certificate. A student's history with you builds up over the years.

  14. Certificate you sign

Set the name, title, and a line of text that appear on every certificate for a course, and preview it before anyone finishes.

  15. Completion email

When a student finishes, they get an email with their certificate link.

  16. Review fee settings

Each organization sets its own course review fee and a note creators see before they submit.

  17. CE tracked on the profile

Hours per credential, progress toward renewal, and every record behind the number.

  18. 18
    Live sessionsPlanned

Schedule live course sessions with capacity limits.

Sponsorships
LivePlatformOrganizations

Curated sponsors that help keep PAWCAP free for members, never banner ads.

  1. Newsletter sponsor

One sponsor per Sunday newsletter, clearly marked Sponsored and placed after the top articles. Booked by the week from Platform Admin, with sent and click counts and no tracking pixel.

  2. Sponsors pay online

One click sends the sponsor a Stripe payment link by email. It turns Paid on its own, with an invoice and receipt from Stripe.

  3. Sponsored courses and events

One partner course featured at the top of the course catalog, and one event at the top of the events page, each labeled Sponsored, booked by the week with showings and clicks counted.

  4. Professional boosts

A member's card moves to the front of Find a Trainer, only in searches they already appear in, with a small Sponsored pill. Booked by the week, with showings and clicks counted. The Mentors list is never sponsored.

Billing and payments
In progressOrganizationsProfessionalsPlatform

Stripe handles plans, course sales, session payments, and payouts.

  1. Two levels, nothing held back

Member ($99 a year, free for members of partner organizations) is the whole platform. Plus ($149 a year, or $50 for partner members) adds the website chat, video and 25 GB in messages, 15 service badges, and soon text reminders. Upgrade from Settings; billed once a year.

  2. Simple fee rules

A flat percent on paid course sign-ups. Free courses and CE review fees carry no platform fee.

  3. Webhook safety

Every Stripe event is recorded once and processed once.

  4. StripePayPalCheckout for courses and sessions

Courses and mentoring sessions are paid by card through Stripe. The publisher or mentor gets the money in their own Stripe account, less PAWCAP's 10 percent.

  5. Publisher and mentor payouts

Connected Stripe accounts are paid at once. A publisher who has not connected Stripe yet is paid by hand; the amount owed is on record.

  6. 6
    Refunds and disputesPlanned

Handled from God Mode with a full record.

Platform operations (God Mode)
In progressPlatform

One place for the platform team to review, approve, and keep the lights on.

  1. Platform overview

Counts, tenant activity, and audit events.

  2. Article review queue

Read, approve, or send back submitted articles with a note.

  3. Role picker for demos

Switch between the Organizational Admin and Credentialed Professional views in one click. More roles return when needed.

  4. 4
    Mentor approvalsPlanned

Approve mentor applications and set them live.

  5. Verification queue

Every new member names their credential. A partner's roster confirms it on the spot; otherwise a PAWCAP admin approves or declines with a reason. Until then the account can be set up but nothing goes public.

  6. Access follows the credential

Membership is tied to a current credential. The moment the last one ends, or the organization marks it not current, the member is treated like anyone who is not credentialed: no booking pages, listing, forum, articles, or courses. For 30 days they keep their bookings and can download their clients (with every booking) and their credentials, certificates, and CE hours. Nothing is cancelled. A reminder goes out 30 days before an end date, and access returns as soon as a current credential is on file. Admins can also pause an account by hand. While paused, their courses and articles leave the public catalog and cannot be bought or joined, even when free; learners already enrolled keep their course.

  7. Partner member lists

A partner sends its member list as a spreadsheet. PAWCAP reads the columns, learns the organization's own status words once, and checks every person against it: renewals reopen access, lapses pause it, and members missing from a full list are flagged for a person to check. A list never opens an account; invites still do. Organizations will upload their own lists next.

  8. One credential status language

Organizations send their own words (Lapsed, Certified, Emeritus); PAWCAP converts them to one standard list: Pending, Active, Grace period, Expired, Suspended, Revoked, Inactive, Cancelled. Unknown words are flagged for an admin.

  9. Take your clients with you

Download every client and every booking as a spreadsheet: pet, time, place, video link, price, answers, and notes. Credentials, certificates, and CE hours download the same way.

  10. A number alone proves nothing

A credential number found on a partner's member list never lets anyone in by itself. PAWCAP sends a code to the email the organization has for that member; if they cannot reach it, an admin confirms with the organization.

  11. Invite-only launch

Like Gmail in 2004: every member gets five invites to pass on, admins seed the first wave and invite by hand, and everyone else joins a waitlist. Sign-up confirms the email with a 6-digit code, checks the organization's member list, and puts a card on file that is charged only on approval.

Design and foundation
LivePlatform

A calm, editorial look and a stack built to scale.

  1. A page for every feature

Ten public pages, one per feature, with what you get, how it works, and questions answered, written so search engines and AI assistants can quote them.

  2. Terms, Privacy, and a cookie choice

Plain-language Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy written from what the platform really does. One cookie notice with one choice: embedded YouTube and Vimeo players wait for it. YouTube loads in privacy-enhanced mode.

  3. Help center

Short guides for every part of the platform, by category, with steps, FAQs, and related guides. Every feature page links to its guides.

  4. Editorial design system

Inter and Instrument Serif, a black-and-grey palette with restrained brand accents, shared components.

  5. A homepage for professionals

The homepage speaks to credentialed professionals: their practice, credentials and CE, being found, community, and how to join. Organizations have their own page.

  6. Notion-style footer

Every public link in one place. Promote links to the top nav as pages are ready.

  7. Search-engine and share ready

Canonical links, share tags, and a default share image.

  8. Modern stack

Nuxt 4, MongoDB, Stripe, Cloudflare R2 and Stream, deployed on Cloudflare Containers.

  9. Community points and levels

Members earn points when other members find their work helpful: an article that reaches 10, 25, then 50 useful marks, comments and forum replies marked helpful, accepted answers, well-rated courses and mentoring, a complete profile, and colleagues they invited. Posting alone earns nothing, and one member can only count a few times a month. Levels (Member, Contributor, Trusted, Leader, Fellow) show as a badge to other professionals, lift answers and topics in the forum a little, weigh useful marks in what counts as popular, and give a small lift in Find a Trainer. The public sees only the Verified badge. Every rule is set in Platform Admin.

  10. A weekly newsletter

Every Sunday at 8:00 AM in each member's own time zone: the week's most useful articles and the busiest forum topics, worked out the moment it goes out. Members only, one-click unsubscribe, and a switch in settings. A quiet week sends nothing.

  11. Notifications your way

Email, the bell in the app, or a banner on your phone and computer. Pick per kind of news: bookings, reviews, mentions, people you follow, courses, and your account. Text messages come next.

  12. Install it as an app

Add PAWCAP to a phone home screen or a computer dock from the browser. It opens full screen like a native app, with shortcuts to Meetings and Contacts, and pages you have opened still load offline. Updates arrive on their own.
