Personalize your website chat

The welcome bubble, the moment you ask for an email, the name and picture visitors see, and whether the panel opens by itself.

Part of Website Chat.

  1. 1

Go to Settings, then Website chat and press Personalize.

  2. 2

Welcome: the first bubble a visitor reads. Keep it to one or two lines.

  3. 3

Ask for an email: right after their first message, after a minute with no answer, or never. Visitors who give one get your replies by email too.

  4. 4

Name and picture: your profile, or a custom name and picture for the chat.

  5. 5

Open by itself: after a number of seconds, once a day per visitor. Never on phones.

The button

Back on the Website chat page, pick icon, text, or both, up to 24 characters of text, your color, and the corner. The snippet carries these; nothing is stored, so copy it again after a change.

Visitors who never give an email show as "Website visitor" in your inbox. They still see your replies in the chat while the page is open, and the chat remembers them on their next visit from the same browser.
